Event #1

Event 1

Once the cards were in the air it was hard to tell what was going faster, the drinks or the rebuys! The players were having a blast and in addition to almost 400 meals being provided for the hungry people of Southern Nevada from each initial buy-in, Three Square will also be able to provide an additional 150 meals for each rebuy and add-on that was made during the event. Our mission statement states that we strive to make it easy for poker players and celebrities to give back to their communities and the world in a very tangible way while playing the game we all love. All told, we raised $14,605 for Three Square that night which will be able to provide over 43,000 meals to the hungry. I think our first event was a great embodiment of our mission!

The Charity Series of Poker would like to thank everyone who was involved in making our first event a success, including (but of course not limited to!) the pros, celebrities, and media who attended and promoted the event, Planet Hollywood Casino, All-American Dave’s Fit Food Truck, Monster Products, our Graphic Designer Deirdre Hughes, and of course the representatives and volunteers from Three Square Food Bank! Without all of your dedication and support the Charity Series of Poker would simply not be possible.

Make sure to check the website from time to time for updates about new charity events, including our event on September 13, 2014 at 5pm! It’s an official main event on the Borgata Poker Open schedule and is the night before their $3500 re-entry World Poker Tour which features a $3 million guaranteed prize pool. Half of the prize pool goes to payouts and half of the prize pool will be distributed equally between the Food Bank of South Jersey and Habitat for Humanity’s Atlantic County Chapter.
