Event 12

The 12th Charity Series of Poker event was a fantastic event for all that attended. Held on October 19th at the bestbet in Jacksonville, the event saw 34 players contribute their buy-ins, as well as an additional 174 total rebuys for a $21,100 prize pool. The tournament kicked off with a VIP reception that offered attendees food, drinks and a whole lot of fun.

The conclusion ultimately saw Gabriel Chupka facing down the WPT’s own, the legendary, Mike Sexton for the title of Charity of Series Event 12 winner. With Queen Eight suited, Gabriel Chupka bested one of the games finest to take home the title, and $4,775 for first place. Mike Sexton took home $2,865 for his second-place finish. Rounding out the top three was Michael Shanahan of Avon, Indiana, who was rewarded with $1,910 for his third-place finish.

Charity Series of Poker is honored to have been able to show some support for the Ellie DIPG Research Fund. This organization was founded after young Ellie Kavalieros passed away from DIPG in 2011 at the age of 11. In honor of Ellie, and all the other children whose lives are cut short due to this tragic disease, Charity Series of Poker is very happy to announce that it raised $9,550 for Ellie DIPG Research Fund.

Thank you very much to everyone who came out and made this event a tremendous success.
